A new managing director has taken over at Stanton Precast.

The firm is supplying giant precast concrete segments being used to build a new HS2 “green tunnel” in Northamptonshire.

The Enquirer revealed last month that “quality issues” have been found on the initial batch of segments manufactured by Stanton Precast at its plant in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

Tests are still underway on the segments on the 2.5km Chipping Warden Green Tunnel where work started earlier this year.

Main contractor on the job is EKFB – a team made up of Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall.

Stanton Precast managing director Ian Steel has now left the business after joining in February.

A company statement seen by the Enquirer said: “We would like to announce a change in the leadership of Stanton Precast.

“Stuart Yates has now joined Stanton Precast Ltd as Managing Director.

“Stuart takes over from Ian Steel, who we thank for his contribution to Stanton Precast over the last months.

“Stuart will drive the transformation needed to accelerate the growth of the business and better serve our customers’ needs.”
